FDNY Foundation joins the FDNY in Mourning the Passing of Lieutenant Joseph Maiello
December 27, 2021

This holiday season, the FDNY Foundation thanks you for your unwavering support of our FDNY first responders. So many of you stepped up to help the FDNY Foundation ensure that our Firefighters, EMTs and Paramedics have the tools and resources to safely serve and protect New York City.

This year we came together to honor and remember the 20th anniversary of September 11, 2001 and the 343 FDNY members that died that day and the thousands more who have been affected by 9/11 related cancer and illnesses.

The dangerous and unrelenting work continues for the FDNY. Every day our members continue to risk their lives in service to others.

Your support has allowed us to continue to provide essential resources, tools, education, training, and equipment so that our members are always ready to answer the call. We are so grateful that when the Commissioner or Senior Chiefs reach out to us, we are able to respond quickly to fund important needs.

The FDNY has continued its tradition of excellence in response to nearly 2 million emergency calls this year. Be it fires, medical emergencies, stuck elevators, traffic accidents and more, our members are there when you call for help, responding with professionalism, compassion and skill.

With the FDNY as our partner, we offer fire and life safety programming to audiences of all ages. The FDNY Fire Safety Education Unit (FSEU) takes the lead in developing informative and lively presentations reaching thousands of school children, senior citizens and communities.
