FDNY Foundation Thanks Kidde for their Continued Support

IThe FDNY and FDNY Foundation joined Kidde for their “Cause for Alarm” forum in Manhattan for Fire Prevention week. The event helped raise awareness of home fire and carbon monoxide (CO) safety and ways to keep more communities safe. Kidde is an important partner to the FDNY and the FDNY Foundation in the ongoing fight to reduce fire deaths. Working smoke and carbon monoxide (CO) alarms save lives by quickly giving you and your loved ones an early warning signal that something is wrong.

“The first step in fire safety education is prevention. Every day, our first responders see the devastating consequences of fire and carbon monoxide emergencies. Many of these emergencies can be prevented with early detection,” said Lillian Bonsignore, FDNY Commissioner. “Having working alarms in every home is not just a recommendation; it is a critical lifeline. We are incredibly grateful for programs like Kidde’s Cause For Alarm that equip New Yorkers with the tools and knowledge they need to help protect themselves and their loved ones.”

At this year’s event, Kidde, iHeartMedia, and The Home Depot honored the 25th Anniversary of September 11 and the 343 FDNY members killed on 9/11. This is part of the FDNY and FDNY Foundation’s solemn promise to Never Forget. Entertainment was provided by singer Noah Schnacky. Noah is married to Kristin Marino, whose father Kenneth was an FDNY Firefighter from Rescue 1 killed on 9/11.

During the event, Kidde announced a donation of more than $300,000 worth of smoke and carbon monoxide alarms to the FDNY Foundation. These alarms will help expand access to life-saving detection and fire safety education throughout New York City communities. iHeartIMPACT donated $20,000 to support the FDNY Foundation fire safety education programs.

We thank Kidde and iHeartIMPACT for their tremendous support!
