On Thursday, September 17th, the FDNY Foundation hosted our annual Humanitarian Awards Dinner at the FDNY Fire Academy on Randall’s Island, honoring David Solomon, Chairman & CEO of Goldman Sachs. The fundraiser brings together business partners and community leaders to support the lifesaving mission of the FDNY Foundation.
Donations raised from the dinner help provide training, equipment and education for FDNY members, as well as fire and life safety education programs for all of New York City, and more. CNBC commentator Guy Adami served as emcee and recognized the 50th Anniversary of the FDNY Fire Academy.
The FDNY Service Recognition Award recipients included Lieutenant Patrick T. Donlon, Paramedic Naytasha Doyle and Probationary Firefighter Paul Saladis III for their lifesaving work in the field. Lieutenant Willie Bedoya of the FDNY Mobile CPR Training Unit was recognized for helping launch the Department’s “Control the Bleed” program.
