The FDNY and the FDNY Foundation celebrated the 24th class of the FDNY Officers Management Institute (FOMI) during a graduation ceremony on Thursday, May 7 at FDNY Headquarters in Brooklyn. Sixteen members of the FDNY were part of the graduating class.
The FDNY Foundation joins the FDNY in congratulating this year’s FOMI graduates!
The FDNY Foundation is proud to continue to fund this great program which helps to improve the department.
FOMI was established in 2002, developed based on a recommendation in the McKinsey Report that was completed in the wake of September 11th. Funded by the FDNY Foundation, FOMI is designed improve the Department’s strength and resilience by giving high-ranking officers and executive staff a solid foundation in management principles and leadership strategy.
To date, more than 380 FDNY members have graduated from the program.
