FDNY members featured in the 2026 Calendar of Heroes appeared on Good Day New York on FOX 5 on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, highlighting the importance of staying physically fit and the crucial role the FDNY Foundation plays in supporting the Department.
“Not everything the FDNY does and needs comes through the New York City budget,” said Matthew DiLiberto, Chairman of the FDNY Foundation. “We have a lot of charitable organizations, including Firehouse Subs — who sponsored this calendar — that support programs like the Fire Safety Education Unit, the Counseling Services Unit, the K-9 Unit, and the Robotics Unit. The Department needs these funds and these programs, and the FDNY Foundation provides that.”
FDNY Commissioner Robert S. Tucker said: “I’m really happy the calendar is back. We had hundreds of applications to be a part of the calendar. It was a rigorous review process. This is about fitness, and we in the Fire Department have a grueling job, and you have to be physically fit. These are some of the fittest of the bravest.”
Sponsored by the FDNY Foundation in partnership with Firehouse Subs, the iconic calendar showcases some of the FDNY’s bravest and most dedicated first responders from across New York City. It is the only official calendar of the New York City Fire Department and is published for the first time since 2021.
The 2026 calendar features 25 firefighters, EMTs and paramedics. Proceeds from the calendar directly support the FDNY Foundation’s lifesaving mission to enhance fire and life safety education, training initiatives and resources for the FDNY.
