On Saturday, June 15, the FDNY Foundation joined the FDNY for a plaque dedication for Firefighter Mark Batista at Engine 226 in Brooklyn.

The FDNY Foundation joins the FDNY in remembering Firefighter Batista. We remember and honor him for his service, commitment, and dedication to the FDNY and the City of New York. Firefighter Batista will never be forgotten.

Firefighter Batista was a 15-year veteran of the Department, serving as an EMT and a Firefighter.

Firefighter Batista died last June trying to save his daughter from drowning at the Jersey Shore.
