FDNY Foundation Joins the FDNY in Mourning the Passing of retired Firefighter Robert V. West Jr.

It is with deep sadness that the FDNY Foundation joins the FDNY in mourning the passing of retired Firefighter Robert V. West Jr., who died from his WTC-related illness on Friday, October 24, 2025.

Firefighter West served the Department for 24 years and went on to serve with the Quartermaster’s Unit at Fort Totten for an additional 20 years. He leaves behind two children, stepdaughter Michaela, 17, and his son Patrick, 14.
