On Monday, June 30, the FDNY Foundation joined the FDNY for an EMS Officer Promotion ceremony at St. John’s University in Queens. 84 EMS members were promoted to the ranks of Paramedic, Deputy Chief, Captain, and Lieutenant.
The FDNY Foundation congratulates these 84 EMS members on their promotions. This is a tremendous accomplishment for them and their families. We wish them continued success and thank them for their service and commitment to protecting the people and City of New York and proudly representing the FDNY.
“FDNY EMS is never just a job. It is a constant whirlwind of challenges, where every day you face the unexpected, perform under pressure, and make split second decisions that save lives. We know without a shadow of a doubt that we have the finest Paramedics and the most dedicated leadership in the entire country. To all our promoted members, never become complacent and keep pushing your boundaries because true growth comes when you challenge yourself,” said Chief of EMS Operations Michael J. Fields.
“The work of EMS is not easy. Every day on every tour you encounter people whose need is great and their time is precious. Getting to emergencies quickly and responding with expertise, compassion, and professionalism is the trademark of the FDNY brand. I am grateful to each one of you for serving our great city and for the work you do daily to better yourselves and our department,” said First Deputy Commissioner Mark Guerra.
