FDNY Foundation Congratulates 82 Fire Cadets on their Graduation

On Tuesday, May 13th the FDNY Foundation joined the FDNY for a graduation ceremony for 82 Fire Cadets who graduated from the FDNY Fire Cadet Academy in a ceremony held at the FDNY Fire Academy on Randall’s Island. This was the first cadet class since 2002.

The FDNY Foundation congratulates the 82 cadets who graduated today! We are proud to support the Fire Cadet Academy!

The Cadet program is a two-year apprenticeship that equips Cadets with in-depth knowledge of the Department, including extensive classroom training as well as hands-on field training and fitness conditioning. Throughout their time in the Academy, they did six rotations at more than 50 units and bureaus in the Department to enhance their training. Congratulations to our Cadets!

“I’m proud of you. I’m excited for you. I think this is the beginning of your public service career. I think you’re going to be incredible family members of the FDNY,” said FDNY Commissioner Robert Tucker.
