On Thursday, May 15, the FDNY Foundation Associate Board hosted “FDNY Night in Tribeca” at FDNY Engine 7, Ladder 1, Battalion 1 in Manhattan. Guests enjoyed exclusive firehouse tours, fire and life safety demonstrations, and an inspiring speech from our guest speaker, FDNY Lt. James Dowdell. They also met our FDNY dogs and their handlers from the FDNY K-9 unit.
We are grateful to the FDNY Foundation Associate Board, co-chaired by Michael Corbi and Sheba Jafari, for their continued support to raise awareness and funds for our mission. “The FDNY Foundation exists to support the FDNY family. As Matt DiLiberto, our Foundation Chair, recently reminded us, the Foundation was created to fill the gap between what the city can provide and what the department truly needs. That means funding life-saving fire safety education, critical equipment, and specialized training-programs that literally save lives every day,” said Sheba Jafari, FDNY Foundation Associate Board Co-Chair.
Thank you to the officers and members of E7/L1/B1 who provided demonstrations and tours of their historic firehouse which was established 150 years ago. Special thanks to our FDNY Ceremonial Unit for making this event so successful. We also thank our event sponsors: Balloon Saloon, Café Clement, F45, Greenwich Street Tavern, Hank’s Juicy Beef, Insomnia Cookies, Little Man Parking, Moody’s, Paros, Potbelly, Shake Shack, The Odeon, Terroir, Tribeca Film Festival and Whole Food Market Tribeca.
