FDNY Foundation and FDNY Join New York Liberty for FDNY Appreciation Night

The WNBA’s New York Liberty has teamed up with the FDNY and the FDNY Foundation to help raise awareness for fire and life safety, as well as to celebrate the FDNY’s milestone year.

“We are grateful to the New York Liberty, as well as Madison Square Garden, for working with us to spread our message of fire and life safety and to help us with our continued recruitment efforts,” said Fire Commissioner Daniel Nigro. “We are also excited to celebrate this banner year with these two New York Institutions, the Liberty and MSG.”

“The Liberty are proud to host FDNY Appreciation Night to honor New York City’s Bravest and their families at Madison Square Garden as the FDNY celebrates 150 years of serving the people of New York City,” said New York Liberty Senior Vice President for Business and Basketball Operations Kristin Bernert. “We are indebted to the dedicated service of the FDNY and other first responders, and are excited to also provide a platform for them to share critical information about fire safety as we recognize this milestone.”

Fire safety education and recruitment tables will be placed at the Liberty game versus the Minnesota Lynx on Fri., Aug. 28.

The night will also celebrate the FDNY’s 150th anniversary with special FDNY family participation.
