2014 FDNY Symposium
The New York City Fire Department, in partnership with the FDNY Foundation, will host the 6th Annual FDNY Symposium on March 14 and 15, 2014.
The 2014 Symposium will focus on FDNY Operations at High-Rise Building fires and Mass Casualty Incidents. We will share our fire ground knowledge to provide a training event that will make emergency first responders better prepared and more effective in performing their duties and responsibilities under these most challenging conditions.
Our Fire Officers will explain Command Procedures and Company Operations for commercial and residential high-rise buildings.
EMS and Fire Officers will address all aspects of Mass Casualty Incidents, including extrication, stabilization, medical care, and transportation of victims from the scene. Furthermore, we will present a study of operations at the recent NYC train derailment, incorporating Inter-Agency operations, new equipment specifically designed for use on rails, emergency medical triage procedures, and more.
